A practical model for open finance third-party risk scoring

A practical open finance risk scoring model rates each third-party provider on a single 0–100 scale built from financial, operational, security, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance factors, then updates that score continuously as new signals arrive rather than recalculating it on a fixed schedule.

The five risk bands

1. Very Low: 90–100
2. Low: 80–89
3. Medium: 70–79
4. High: 60–69
5. Very High: 0–59

A score in the High or Very High band isn't a fixed verdict – the same scoring that surfaces a drop also identifies the specific factor behind it, giving a provider a defined path back to a stronger score rather than a static, unexplained number.
